I just realized how slack I have been with my blog posting of late, it's been a whole month since my last post. Some weeks and even Months you just wonder where the time goes, although on reflection at least some of the time it isn't difficult to figure it out at all. If you're anything like me you have various balls in the air, juggling away. You know it is necessary to prioritize and do the most important things although at times it is difficult just to figure out which of all those things you need or want to do is the most important and will have the ability to move you forward the most. On the other hand progress can come from the most unlikely of places some times.
I've recently become a HypnoBirthing Practitioner and in order to run classes have been looking at various option for where to run these classes. I'd settled on using one of the local community centres as I don't have an appropriate space at home in which to conduct them, however deciding to have a massage changed that.
Having had a busy night at work on Thursday night I sat down on a chair to do computer work and said to the other Midwife 'I need a massage' and decided that since it was Friday (the day my massage person does massage) I should take myself off for a massage later in the afternoon, if I could get an appointment. When I got home from work I rang to see if I could get in and lucky me she had a vacancy, so after a few hours sleep off I went for an awesome massage. During my chat with my massage therapist I mentioned the HypnoBirthing classes and she suggested I go and talk to the shop owner across the road as she thought she might have a space that I could use for the classes along with the fact that the owner was also in the process of becoming a Doula, Perfect!!!
After my massage was sadly over I headed across the road to have a chat to the owner of the shop she had suggested. The shop was busy so I had to wait a while for her to be free, however I entertained myself by looking around at all the fabulous candles, crystals, books etc the store contained. Once the customers dwindled a bit I got the chance to speak to her and was shown to a room in which they normally do meditation classes. I couldn't believe my luck, what an absolutely perfect place to hold classes. Rather then the hard chairs and tables that would be the seating at the community centre this room had couches where the couples would be able to sit and do their relaxation exercises in comfort. It's amazing what little gems are hiding away out of view sometimes and now I'm really looking forward to teaching my first HypnoBirthing class in such a warm and inviting space.
